For Activate Vacant, South El Monte Arts Posse (SEMAP) invited artists to transgress space by creating installations in abandoned, un-used, and, often, fenced-in lots. Jennifer Renteria, a recent graduate of USC’s School of Architecture, is SEMAP’s third artist.
